Keeping Things Human: The Cascade Yarns Way

Founded in 1987 by Bob Dunbabin, Cascade Yarns has been a Dunbabin family business for nearly forty years. Since taking over the company in 2011, Bob’s son Rob and his daughter-in-law Shannon have continued the family’s commitment to providing fine yarns at affordable prices. With a small but mighty team of just 12 people, becoming a widely recognized yarn distributor has never been Rob and Shannon’s goal. Instead, building relationships has been the cornerstone of Cascade Yarns from the beginning. It is the personal touch that sets the company apart. Since day one, when someone calls, they speak to a real person—often even one of the owners themselves. “No hoops or hurdles. Keeping things human was important to my father, and it’s still how we do things today,” Rob Dunbabin shared. Together, Rob and Shannon oversee every aspect of the business, from visiting the mills that produce the yarn to personally connecting with the vendors who stock the brand and the customers who adore it.
