I moved to Los Angeles from Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 2010. I am excited to be in Los Angeles. We did not even have a yarn shop in Haiti. Can you believe that?! So, I am like a kid in a candy store now.
I learned how to knit from my great-grandmother in Germany, almost 40 years ago, when I was six years old. My great-grandmother was a master teacher in all the needle arts. My mother owned a yarn shop and used to design knitwear. From a young age onward, I used to knit for her shop and assist in designing garments.
I guess that she had not heard about child labor laws back then. Currently, I am designing patterns for Cascade Yarns and have designs published in Knitscene, Knit ‘N Style and Knit Now. I also publish independently (thanks to Ravelry). I love the fact that
women from all over the world are knitting my designs/patterns!
