Ashley Andrews Bio:
I learned to crochet about 2.5 years ago. For my first Amigurumi I made a Pokemon (Pichu). When I saw how they were done I wanted to design my own toys immediately. Since I don't have much money to buy my daughter toys I made my own designs for her to start with. Since then my work has shown up all over the internet, won awards on www.deviantart.com and other sites.
I was published in my little pony newspaper (Equestria Daily) multiple times. My biggest passion is making toys based on animals. Hope to be able to grow in skill to make even better toys. I also enjoy knitting, spinning, beading, cross stitch and drawing. I like to sketch a lot of my toys beforehand to get a feel for how I want to break them down into their basic elements.
On a side note, I learned to knit while pregnant with my daughter (now 4). The first piece I ever knit was a baby blanket. The biggest reason I like designing is because my mom, Wendy Lee Ragan was a clothing designer. She wrote 2 books, won numerous rewards, and was published in "Sew Beautiful Magazine". She had me on covers of publications and taught me nearly everything I know about color, quality and techniques.
I sell my patterns in my on-line store on Raverly and also in Nerdy Knitter Designs on Etsy.com.
